SharePoint Conference 2012
SPC 2012: Share more Do more
Microsoft SharePoint Conference 2012 was held at Las Vegas this time from 12-15 November, 2012. Arguably the most comprehensive event in the world dedicated to SharePoint and related technologies, SPC 2012 got going with a lot of energy. With a "share more do more" theme, SharePoint Conference 2012 keynote, breakout sessions, and hands-on labs focused on SharePoint 2013, the cloud, Office 365, SharePoint Online, enterprise social networking, SharePoint best practices to get the most out of it, and more.
Abuzz with 10,000+ participants spanning SharePoint business decision makers, IT professionals, developers, and ecosystem partners, SPC 2012 was the place to learn the latest and connect with the SharePoint community. As a Microsoft partner and one of the earliest companies to offer SharePoint Development Services, Mindfire was there, too. Our senior SharePoint Team Lead, Srikanta, shares his conference experience:
Srikanta's SPC 2012 Experience
Hi - I am Srikanta. I am a senior SharePoint Team Lead with Mindfire. I have been working with SharePoint for more than seven years now. My areas of interest and specialization are SharePoint 2013, SharePoint Online, SharePoint 2010, MOSS 2007, and Workflow Development.
Attending SPC 2012 this year was a great experience. Got an opportunity to meet and interact with quite a few industry experts, Microsoft MVPs, and SharePoint customers. Felt a sense of delight and pride to meet many of our clients, too, in the expo floor with more than 200 exhibition stalls at the conference.
The conference sessions were woven around SharePoint 2013 as Microsoft is going to release it very soon. All the sessions I attended were quite interesting and helped me learn a lot about all new features of the SharePoint 2013 release. This experience would help us while working on SharePoint 2013 development projects for our clients.
Some of the top sessions at the conference in my view were SharePoint migration from lower versions to SharePoint 2013, moving to SharePoint Online and the cloud environment, Custom and OOTB workflow development, getting started with VS 2012 and SharePoint 2013, and lastly BI integration with SharePoint 2013.
Through its consistent investments in building world-class expertise and being at the cutting edge of technology through certification, training, and conference (CTC) initiatives such as this, Mindfire has provided me opportunities to grow professionally and be the best in my chosen area of expertise. I have been working with Mindfire since the last three years and can proudly say it is one of the best places to work.
