 2Week Tour Manish Sanganeria Stockholm, Sweden May 24 – June 4, 2010
Mr. Manish Sanganeria, Sr. Sales Manager traveled and represented us in Stockholm from 26th May – 4th June with a motive to seek out for potential new opportunities.
Travel Notes Stockholm attracts thousands of tourists each year because of its enchanting natural beauty. Though our Sales Manager, Manish was on a business trip to Stockholm, it did not take him long to get captivated by this picturesque old capital. Built over 14 islands, this city is rightly known as the “Venice of the North”. Stockholm is a city of contrasts with history and innovation all being seen in this compact capital. Manish was strangely surprised to see that Stockholm witnesses more than 20 hours of day light.
Sweden is home to multinational giants like IKEA, Volvo and Ericsson. Manish was lucky enough to witness the annual high school student celebrations called Skive. It was an exhilarating experience to watch the student’s dressed up for the occasion, parade through the local streets on open trucks which were attractively decorated with their respective school slogans. Amidst all this excitement, Manish was able to meet 22 prospective clients out of the 24. The trip proved to be extremely successful as Manish bagged a client for Open Source technology and is confident about few more closures as well.
Tech Notes Some of the interesting technology and business trends observed during the meetings in Stockholm are:
-
High level of enthusiasm for Open Source
-
Mobile development was top-of-mind
-
Stockholmers often used as a test market by multinational companies
-
High enthusiasm for outsourcing projects to India
-
Swedes amongst the most IT-savvy users in the world
