Mindfire took up a unique initiative for hundreds of its people by organizing multiple full-day conferences to get everyone on board the Agile-SCRUM bus. Leading practitioners and coaches of the Agile-SCRUM world held workshop-style discussions, and people were immersed in the possibilities. This huge investment of time and money was made with simple intent: better work.

Mindfire's early investment into building a mobile workforce which withstands unforeseen instability and disruption, paid off this month when entire India came to a screeching stop because of the 2-day Nationwide bandh (Trade Union Strike). At Mindfire, however, it was business as usual as people worked from the comfort of their homes from their official laptops, being connected with each other all the while. Foresight into future and meticulous planning well ahead in time prevented major work impact in such times.

FluidXpertise is an in-house system developed by Mindfire Solutions to enable flow and availability of expertise throughout the organization. The system, based on Collaborative Intelligence, bridges the demand and supply of expertise. Work becomes smarter by making expertise available in its hundreds of people (supply) to specific expertise required by someone in a certain situation (demand). Currently in its internal beta rollout mode, the system is slated for a full release by year-end. The company expects to file patents for some of the unique elements implemented in FluidXpertise, by end of 2013. The vision is for clients to work with one or few people at Mindfire, but to get the benefit of its entire workforce!

To maximize Software engineering efficiency, Mindfire Solutions announced a vigorous initiative to acquire the world's leading tools, enabling work to be done faster and better. The Tools repository, backed by an audacious annual budget of a quarter of a million dollars (!), already boasts of multiple brilliant tools. These help Mindfireans do smart work, not just work - and clients are seeing benefits of work that is backed by the best tools.

Two of our senior .NET developers attended the premier event for Developers and IT Professionals. Taking this as an opportunity to learn from industry professionals across the globe, Mindfireans attended multiple sessions on Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft ASP.net, HTML5, SQL Server, SharePoint and Microsoft Exchange.
