Immunization SHOTS Integration

The users of the EMR were doing double work by entering the data once in EMR and then again in the health regulator’s repository site (Florida SHOTS Immunization Repository a case in point). We automated this process by picking up the data from the EMR and then by constructing a VXU File (Main segment being the RXA) and sent the same to the regulator’s FTP site using sFTP based windows service. The whole process was automated in such a way that the user was not required even to click a button. The vaccines were sent in the CPT code or in the CVX code format.
